IELTS is the International English Language Testing System which tests English proficiency across the globe is administered by Cambridge ESOL and IDP Education, Australia. IELTS tests all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking. The Speaking test is a face-to-face interview with a certified Examiner. It is interactive and as close to a real-life situation as a test can get. IELTS is available in two test formats: Academic or General Training. All candidates take the same Listening and Speaking components but different Reading and Writing components. The Academic format is for those who want to study or train in an English-speaking university or Institutions of Higher and Further Education. Admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses is based on the results of the Academic test. All candidates receive a test score between 1(lowest) and 9(highest). Academic Institutions set their own IELTS entry scores. At Shiksha, IELTS classes in Ahmedabad are made interesting and interactive so as to facilitate the best out of students. Coaching is provided in all the four language skills. Before students enroll, they are always briefed about IELTS. Listening and Reading is conducted every alternate day of the batch. The United States of America is the world’s top study abroad destination. It has some of the leading universities for those who want to study Masters in engineering, computer sciences, pharmaceuticals and management. The GRE scores are among the important factors for admission to a Masters program in the USA. GRE scores are accepted by most universities in North America, and also in some other countries, for admission to MS and Ph.D. in engineering, and other sciences. Many Business schools now accept GRE scores for admission to MBA program. Well-ranked Universities may require GRE scores in excess of 300 and top-50-ranged universities ones may ask for a score exceeding 318. Many Bachelor in Technology and B. Pharm. students will be wrestling with questions regarding the GRE Test. If you have done exceptionally well in the GRE, admission to a post-graduate program at one of the high-ranked colleges in the USA could well be within your reach. At SHIKSHA-THE LEARNING CENTRE where we have prepared more than 18000 students for such admission tests from 1999 to the present, students frequently ask our team when they should start preparing for the GRE test. While this may depend on the skills of the individual student in cracking the verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, analytical writing, and critical thinking sections, it is recommended that the candidate take a decision about taking the GRE test in the 4th Semester of their B. Tech, B. Pharm. or other undergrad program. If you are planning to use a test prep specialist institute like SHIKSHA GRE Classes in Ahmedabad to prepare for GRE, it is best to enroll during the 5th or the 6th semester of your undergraduate program. As there may be a limited intake at a particular centre for GRE, we recommend that you register for the test at least 45 days prior to your preferred date. Most students take the GRE at the end of the 5th semester, which is a good target for the fall intake in June. GRE® tests all provide the ScoreSelect® option, which means you can take a GRE test once now, or again in the future, and only send the GRE test scores from whichever test date you want schools to see, and taking the test early may leave you with enough time to retake the test if you want to try for a better score. Some opt to take the GRE when they are in the 6th semester. Since GRE is taken year round, you should opt to prepare and take your test in a period when you are not grappling with studies for a difficult exam. The GRE score is valid for 5 years. Many students from non-English speaking countries like India have problems cracking the verbal section of GRE, specially when it comes to vocabulary. When joining a test preparation institute, it is recommended to check if they have a sizable resource of books and other printed matter, and practice material. This is the reason why SHIKSHA – THE LEARNING CENTRE has dedicated so much space to the library and CBT room. |
